November Adult Programming

The library will be closed for remodeling two weeks in December but, before we close, check-out these great programs offered to adults this November and into December.
The Book To Movie Club is reading Secret Agent: A Simple Tale by Joseph Conrad. Published in 1907, the book is set in 1886 London and deals with Mr. Adolf Verloc and his wife’s discovery that Verloc is an agent terrorist. The film version of the novel, Sabotage, by Alfred Hitchcock, is a 1936 British espionage film. This is one of Hitchcock’s earlier films when he was working in England. Due to the library closing for two weeks in December, we will watch Sabotage the first week in December.
The DIY club will be exploring Green Cleaning and making our own green recipes to make your house sparkle. We will be mixing ingredients and taking samples home!
The Movie of the Month is the black comedy drama, Blue Jasmine, starring Cate Blanchet, Sally Hawkins, and Alec Baldwin. When a rich Manhattan socialite’s life falls to pieces, it is not long before she mentally becomes unhinged. Blanchet won critical acclaim and the Academy Award for best actress for her role as Jasmine.
Get ready to celebrate the Grand Meander at Spencer Public Library. We will have crafts, cookies, and a cocoa bar for kids and adults. Use your adult coloring skills to make festive bookmarks for our homebound patrons, and keep one for yourself! We will see everyone after the remodel! Have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
