September Adult Programming

The 2016 Adult Summer Reading Program results are in. We had 152 people participate and they read 391 books and wrote 182 book reviews during June and July! Congratulations to our weekly bag winners; Lynn Huffman, Cathy Bloom, Brad Braddock, Jon Odor, Donna Johnston, Georgenea Oldenkamp, and Natasha Bovee.  A big congrats to our grand prize winner – Jon Odor – who received a Kindle Fire with a $25 Amazon Gift Card.
Remember to sign-up to read About Schmidt written by Louis Begley.  We will be reading the book in September and watching the movie, starring Jack Nicholson, in October.  About Schmidt is a story of a newly widowed retiree who is dealing with his loneliness along with his botched relationship between himself and his daughter. About Schmidt is a great example of a producer taking parts and pieces of a great book and turning it into a gem of an original film.
Let’s get geared up for autumn by making fall candle holders out of mason jars. We provide the materials you bring your creativity.  This is a fun way to learn some basic crafting skills, meet others who love to craft, and take a free project home made by your own hands.
The library will be showing Me Before You starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. Based on a bestselling novel by Jojo Moyes, Me Before You is a classic romance with a twist. It’s a story of an unexpected relationship that blossoms between a contented, small town Englishwoman and the wealthy, paralyzed Londoner who hires her as his caretaker.

Thanks to all for a great Summer Reading program!
