Purple Tornadoes and Other Things That Fall From The Sky

Eddy Weiss is coming back to the library! Just in time for the advent of severe weather season, Spencer Public Library will be joined by representatives from Chasing4Life on Saturday, March 23rd at 7:00pm for an exciting and informative program. Learn about storm chasing, severe weather history, and current climate challenges. Chasing4Life's mission is to educate the public about disaster awareness and how to be prepared in the event of the emergency that you never thought would happen. Whether it is a tornado, flood, blizzard, or even terrorist attack, there are things you can do to protect your family!

Be watching this space for more information in the next few days. In addition to the evening program for adults, there will be a special story time at 3:00 called "The Purple Tornado" for the younger tots.  We are so excited to be able to offer his children's program this Sat. March 23 @ 3:00 pm. Find out who throws thunderbolts in the sky! Join us! (Because of this wonderful opportunity, the Wimpy Kid Party has been postponed until later this Spring.)

At 4:30 pm, teens and older kids are invited to prepare for the "Zombie Apocalypse".

Did you know that the United States can expect 10,000 violent thunderstorms, 5,000 floods, and 1,000 tornadoes every year? Get your family prepared for severe weather season.

Nothing can beat the Midwest for extreme weather, so don't miss these great programs!
