Patron Rights and Responsibilities
- This library complies with the Library Bill of Rights and the Freedom to Read Statement.
All patron information, including checkouts, reserves, and application information will be
kept strictly confidential.
- Anyone in good standing may receive a library card good for one year. Applications for
infant-6th graders require a parent's signature.
- Library cards are free of charge except if the existing card is lost or damaged beyond
use. Replacement cards cost $1.00.
- Free Internet access is available to any cardholder in good standing. Patrons need to
read the library Internet policy, sign the use agreement, receive the password and obtain
a red Internet Card. Children under 14 years of age require a parent or guardian's
signature.
- Patrons must show their library card when checking out materials. No overdue fines will
be levied. However, when materials are more than one month overdue, a bill will be sent
for materials.
- Patrons with outstanding bills will not be allowed to use library services until all
items are returned in good condition or the bill is paid.
- Reference questions, reserves, renewals, and equipment bookings may be done over the
telephone.
- Renewals are allowed only on one-month materials and are not available on overdue items.
- The only limit on items checked out are 3 videos, 5 cassettes and/or CDs, and 1 art
print or sculpture.
- All complaints should be submitted to the director. Book complaints must be submitted in
writing.
